Celebrating Summer and Team Spirit Across DCCM

Across DCCM, our teams have been making the most of the summer season with opportunities to connect, celebrate, give back, and enjoy time together outside the usual workday routine. From sweet treats and team gatherings to friendly competition and community service, offices across the country have found meaningful and fun ways to kick off summer.

Our Houston West Campus office kicked off the summer season with ice cream, team bonding, and plenty of friendly competition. Team members embraced the summer spirit with flower leis and festive sunglasses while competing in a variety of games, including beach ball keep-up, a paper airplane challenge, summer trivia, flip-flop toss, and a rock-paper-scissors tie breaker. The event provided a fun and memorable way for the team to welcome summertime together.

Our Northeast Florida team welcomed the season with a visit from the Kona Ice truck. Team members took a break from the workday to create their own snow cones, enjoy a cool treat, and spend time together outside the office routine. It was a fun way to beat the heat, connect with coworkers, and welcome summer. The team even managed to wrap up the celebration just before a storm rolled in!

The Central Houston office also embraced the summer spirit with a refreshing spread of popsicles and a fruit bar featuring both sweet and spicy toppings, perfect for beating the Houston heat. Team members added to the fun with sunglasses, flower leis, and even kinetic sand to bring a little beach-inspired energy into the office. The gathering gave employees a chance to take a break, connect across teams, and enjoy the start of the season together.

Also in Houston, employees gathered for DCCM’s annual crawfish and shrimp boil, a beloved tradition that brings staff, colleagues, and guests together each year. Held on a beautiful day, the event provided the perfect setting for an afternoon outdoors and a true Southern favorite: crawfish, often referred to as “mudbugs.” The annual boil continues to be a much-anticipated opportunity for connection, good food, and time together.

DCCM employees gathered around decorated tables for a Fourth of July picnic.

In Northern California, team members gathered at the Santa Rosa office for a BBQ to celebrate ahead of the Fourth of July. The event offered a relaxed opportunity for employees to enjoy good food, connect with coworkers, and celebrate the summer holiday together.

DCCM’s Texas Survey – South Central offices recently came together for a mid-year all-hands meeting that blended team updates with plenty of fun. The group started the day with breakfast at Magnolia Haus of Pancakes before heading to Dill Dinkers for a round of pickleball, where team members shared both their competitive and playful sides.

DCCM’s South Texas office also took time to celebrate employees with a bowling outing on Friday, June 26. Team members enjoyed an afternoon of friendly competition, challenging each other for the top score and bringing DCCM spirit to the lanes, complete with the company logo displayed on the bowling screen.

In Indiana, the team combined summer activity with community service through DCCM’s adoption of Fishers Point Boulevard, located near the Fishers office. As part of this commitment, the team will provide trash cleanup services three times this year to help care for the local community. Four members of the Architecture team, Logan Gemmill, Zach Isaacs, Olivia Link, and Liana Abad, recently led the first cleanup session of the season, spending an hour picking up trash along Fishers Point Boulevard.

Reflecting on the experience, Logan shared, “Even though it is just one street among hundreds, we made good use of our time to help keep the City of Fishers beautiful!”

These summer events reflect the many ways DCCM teams build connection across offices, celebrate one another, and stay engaged with the communities where we live and work. Whether cooling off with snow cones, sharing a meal, enjoying a little friendly competition, or giving back through service, our teams continue to make time for the moments that bring people together.
